In May I had received an email from Cornelia, asking if I could make her a custom ketubah inspired by The Great Gatsby for a garden style wedding. Classic romance story and flowers? I was all over it!
I started drawing the design in June. The first sketch I sent can be seen in this post. While the first sketch is clearly of a nighttime scene, the final ketubah can be a depiction of either the moon or the sun, take it as you will; and the flowers might as well be a flying bouquet!
This ketubah made it all the way to Charlestown, MA and to the elegant garden wedding which took place in late September in East Hampton, NY.
CONGRATULATIONS, CORNELIA & ROBERT!
The ketubah was 18X18 inches, with shimmering gold text layer. An unattached hand-painted metallic silver background was included (not photographed). I know my low-light photographs don't show it, but trust me - This one sure sparkled!

If you're curious, this ketubah took me roughly 18 hours to complete (design hours not included).
I documented my progress on my instagram account. If you want to see more of my studio life, follow me here!
